Annual Fund Donors

Albany Museum of Art supporters play a vital role in strengthening the cultural fabric of our Community

Be part of the largest most exciting fine arts organization in the region

A non-profit cannot fulfill its mission without operational support. The funds raised through the Annual Fund directly support staff, programming, infrastructure, and building needs. There are tiered levels starting at $1, with giving circles that suit the donor’s level of engagement.

Your donation is instrumental in preserving the AMA’s collection of art objects, and in making art exhibitions and educational opportunities available and easily accessible to the Albany and Southwest Georgia community.

The AMA is deeply grateful for all our donors, whose contributions are 100% tax deductible within the limits permitted by law.

We hope you will find a level of support that is comfortable for you as together we strive to build a more vibrant, unified community through art.

Things To Know

The Albany Museum of Art is transitioning from a support model based on paid memberships to a model based on donations to the Museum’s Annual Fund. All memberships will be converted to the new “donorship” model by July 1, 2024.

First, we know that the vast majority of our members hold a membership to support the mission and vision of the Museum and to keep admission free. We want to reward that support by making your future contributions to the AMA 100% tax deductible. By turning your membership into an annual fund donation, that becomes possible.

Second, we have found that some of our membership levels do not cover the costs that those memberships incur over the course of the year, resulting in a net loss of income in those instances. We believe that this new system will enable us to provide value to the donor while enabling the AMA to be good stewards of the funding entrusted to it.

If you renewed your membership before July 1, 2023, you keep the benefits associated with that membership until it is time to renew. On your next renewal, you will have the opportunity to pick the annual fund donor level that best suits you. Anyone contributing after July 1, 2023, will choose from the updated donor levels.

Yes! We want to be accommodating. To set up recurring payments you can go online, or contact Chloe Hinton at 229.439.8400 or email her HERE.

Yes, active military members may make a donation at the Artist Guild level and receive the benefits of the Reciprocal level.

We want to encourage all attendees to start registering for opening receptions. When planning a catered event, knowing approximately how many people to expect is important so that we have enough for everyone, and are being good stewards financially and environmentally by preventing food waste.

Starting with the opening reception in August 2023, we will encourage guests to register online or over the phone. An admission fee will be charged when applicable. Anyone with a current museum membership renewed before July 1, 2023, will not be charged because their current benefit packages will be grandfathered in until their first renewal under the new format.

Contact AMA Director of Development and Membership Chloe Hinton at 229.439.8400 or email her HERE and she will be happy to assist you.
