After three-and-a-half decades in the newspaper business, I wanted to be in a position where I could promote
something positive and special in the community.

While covering a story for an exhibition at the Albany Museum of Art—an organization I had always respected and admired—I learned the museum was looking for a marketing director. I expressed interest and the executive director took a chance on me.

Leaving the only professional arena I had ever known was a major life change, but one that has been rewarding. At the AMA, I have found an extended family, challenging work, the chance to continue learning and develop new skills, and a place where everyone is respected. Not many people can say they love coming to work every day, but I do.
