Student Sculpture Workshop
Sculpt, create, and celebrate Albany in this fun, hands-on workshop designed and led by AMA Teen Art Board member Jack Hopkins. A two-time winner in the annual Southwest Georgia Student Art Exhibition, Jack is bringing his creativity and leadership to this special program for younger artists.
Open to 3rd–8th graders, this three-week series introduces students to the basics of sculpting using homemade clay. Participants will learn how to shape, build, and bring their ideas to life while creating their own miniature Albany turtle sculptures, inspired by the iconic turtle figures found throughout our city.
Along the way, students will also explore and learn about local turtle species and Albany’s natural environment, connecting their artwork to the world right outside their doors. By the end of the program, each student will have a finished turtle sculpture ready to paint and proudly take home.
The $15 registration fee covers all three sessions, which are conducted on consecutive Thursday afternoons at the Albany Museum of Art. RSVP Here.
