Face to Face: Portrait & Sculpture Camp
Step up and meet your subject—Face to Face is a week-long camp for teens in grades 6-12 who are ready to explore the art of human expression through drawing, painting, and sculpture. Middle and high schoolers will create bold, compelling images and three-dimensional sculptures of people and faces, inspired by the works in our summer exhibition featuring Vitus Shell.
Campers will experiment with a variety of materials—from clay and wire to pencil, ink, and paint—while studying proportions, gesture, and expression. Each project challenges students to push beyond realism, exploring style, abstraction, and personal voice, all while gaining hands-on experience with professional art techniques.
By the end of the week, participants will have a portfolio of striking portraits and sculptures that capture the human face in all its complexity and creativity.
Hours: 9 AM-4 PM
Early Bird Cost through April 1: $210 for AMA Reciprocal Level and higher donors; $230 for Artist Guild donors and non-donors.
