Victoria Slagle is Education Coordinator at LaGrange Art Museum. She has a BFA from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga. Slagle says she hopes to spark a conversation about mental illness and the way it is experienced and viewed in our society through her art. Life as a twenty-something, already full of terrifying firsts and trial & error, is complicated with the diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder. At a time where she’s supposed to be figuring out who she wants to be in life, she’s having to learn to deal with the stigmas, symptoms and side effects that accompany her diagnosis.
