The June 27 edition of the AMA’s Corks & Canvases Paint Party will focus on Claude Monet’s masterpiece San Giorgio Maggiore at Dusk.
Grab your spouse, a date, or a friend, or paint solo at the latest Corks & Canvases Paint Party at the AMA! You can enjoy a glass of wine and snacks while you get step-by-step instructions on how to recreate a famous work of art.
As the sun dips below the horizon, casting its final golden hues across the tranquil waters of Venice, Monet’s San Giorgio Maggiore at Dusk comes to life. Painted by the iconic Impressionist, this evocative work is a testament to Monet’s revolutionary approach to capturing fleeting moments of light, atmosphere, and emotion on canvas. Completed in 1908, San Giorgio Maggiore at Dusk showcases Monet’s profound ability to translate the ephemeral beauty of a specific time of day into a timeless artistic expression. The painting invites us to step into a realm where reality melds with the artist’s perception, blurring the boundaries between form and abstraction.
This class is for all skill levels. Even if you have never used a paintbrush, you will leave the AMA Classroom with your own original artwork, one that you will be proud to hang on the wall at your home or office. The AMA will provide paint, brushes, and a 16×20 canvas, as well as refreshments. You can bring a favorite beverage or snack if you want.
Bimonthly classes are conducted in August, October, December, February, April, and June. Don’t wait too long when registering. Space at each of our painting parties has sold out weeks ahead of the event.
