Cookies & Lemonade Reception Celebrates Summer Campers’ Art

Artworks from 11 Albany Museum of Art Summer Camps Will Be on Display

Thursday | July 24 | 5:30-7 PM | Free Event

It has been a creative summer at the Albany Museum of Art. On Thursday, July 24, the museum will celebrate the work of young artists from kindergarten through high school with a special Cookies & Lemonade Art Camp Gallery Reception. The event takes place from 5:30 pm to 7 pm.

“This will be a special evening hosted by our amazing summer camp kids,” AMA Director of Education and Public Programming Annie Van Oteghem said. “Friends, families, and community members can come together to admire the incredible artwork created by campers all summer long.”

Examples of the artworks created at each of the 11 AMA art camps will be on view in the West Gallery. The camps began the week of Memorial Day and have continued all summer.

“It will be a colorful showcase filled with work from all of our summer camp sessions,” Van Oteghem said. “Each work of art tells a story of imagination, exploration, and personal expression, and we’re so proud to share them with everyone.”

The reception is free and open to the public, she said.

“We hope everyone will come by and enjoy refreshing lemonade and cookies while celebrating the talent and hard work of these young artists,” Van Oteghem said. “It’s a perfect way to close out our summer camp season and highlight the unique voices of every camper who made this summer so special.”
