AMA Art Lovers Book Club

Third Tuesdays | 6 PM

July, September, November, January, March, May

The AMA Art Lovers Book Club has opened Season 5. The next meeting is at 6 pm on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at the Albany Museum of Art with a discussion of Girl Reading by Katie Ward.

Published in 2011, Girl Reading is a novel inspired by seven portraits of women shown reading, and the artists who captured their images, from Simone Martini to Pieter Janssens Elinga to a Flickr photographer. In her novel, Ward, a resident of Suffolk, England, explores points of connection and relationship to art, the history of women, and the importance of reading.

Registration is free for everyone, and helps us ensure adequate seating is ready when you arrive. Reserve a spot HERE for March 19 so that you can share your thoughts on Girl Reading while enjoying the company of fellow book lovers in a safe environment. You may also contact AMA Director of Education and Public Programming Annie Vanoteghem by calling 229.439.8400.

AMA Art Lovers Book Club meetings are set for every two months on the third Tuesday so that club members have plenty of time to obtain and read the books before each session.
