Earth Day began in the year 1970, making today the 50th anniversary of Earth Day! This serves as a reminder to try to take care of and protect our environment in our daily lives. It represents a movement that has continued decades later. Over the years, different communities across the country have found ways to minimize the damage we do to planet Earth and keep our home and those who live here healthy!
Step One: Supplies
You’ll need the following...
1. Coffee Filters
2. Blue and Green Markers
3. Spray Bottle
Once you have everything you need, we can get to the fun part!
Step Two: Drawing
Take the blue marker and fill up most of the space, leaving a few areas white to fill up later with green.
Remember that the Earth is mostly water, so the blue should obviously overpower the green.
Lastly, fill in the remaining space with green scribbles.
Step Three: Spray & Dry
Fill your spray bottle with some water and give your coffee filters a few squirts. Remember to not spray too close to the filter!
Let it dry next to the window. The colors will blur together, leaving you with your very own planet Earth decorative art piece.
Wasn’t that fun?
