AMA EXHIBITION PROPOSAL SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
The Exhibition Committee of the Albany Museum of Art is always interested in learning about works of artists that can contribute to our mission of bringing great art to our community and region. One avenue for doing this is our exhibition submission program. We thank you for considering this program and hope these guidelines will be helpful in the submission of your proposal.

When submitting a proposal, please follow these guidelines and use the contact information listed below. The AMA tries to respond to each submission, but may not be able to because of volume or time constraints.

Please do not send any materials that you want returned. The Albany Museum  of Art cannot be responsible for returning those materials. We ask that you do not bring original artwork to the museum or mail it to the museum as part of your proposal.

An Albany Museum of Art representative will contact you if any additional materials are needed for further consideration. Also, please note that the AMA generally plans its exhibitions two to three years in advance.

GUIDELINES FOR ARTISTS
Please send the following:
  • An artist statement and résumé or CV that details education, grants, awards, fellowships, exhibitions, collections, publications, teaching positions, and gallery representation or affiliations.
  • A checklist of works you are including in the exhibition proposed. This must include the title, date, medium, and dimensions of each work.
  • Ten images that illustrate the scope of the exhibition. You may submit your images using an internet file-sending site, or you may mail CD or flash drive to the AMA. Again, please note these materials cannot be returned.
  • We need to know when the exhibition is available.
  • We also need to know about any fees or associated costs that apply.

GUIDELINES FOR CURATORS AND EXHIBITION ORGANIZERS
Please send the following:
  • A brief statement about the organizer/curator and a one-page description of the exhibition.
  • A checklist of works in the exhibition proposal, including each work’s title, date, medium and dimensions.
  • Ten images that illustrate the scope of the exhibition. You may submit your images using an internet file-sending site, or you may mail CD or flash drive to the AMA. Again, please note these materials cannot be returned.
  • The square footage and materials required to display the works.
  • We need to know when the exhibition is available.
  • We also need to know about any fees or associated costs that apply.
