WINTER EXHIBITIONS RECEPTION
Thursday • Jan 12 • 5:30-7 PM

This free Thursday evening event for Albany Museum of Art members will celebrate the winter exhibitions at the AMA, Highlighting Contemporary Art in Georgia: Picture This, which opened Dec 22, and two shows will open that evening of the reception--Globalrama, Works by Gregor Turk, and What's SHE Doing? Revisiting the Permanent Collection.

AMA MEMBERS MEET-UP @ THE HIGH
Saturday • Jan 14 • 11 AM • High Museum of Art, Atlanta

AMA members will travel to meet up at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta for a special viewing of the exhibition Rodin in the United States: Confronting the Modern. This is a free event for AMA members at the Supporting Level or higher. We will meet at 11 am on Saturday, Jan 14, 2023 at the main entrance for the free tour.

LAURA CETILIA IMMERSIVE CELLO CONCERT
Saturday, Jan 28 • 2:30 PM • Belk Building

​Renowned cellist and composer Laura Cetilia will come to Albany to perform original works inspired by Albany Museum of Art spaces. She will be in concert at the Belk Building, the AMA’s future downtown home at 140 W. Broad Ave. The concert is free to the community.

LET'S PAINT LIKE: BOB ROSS
Friday, Feb 3 • 6-8 PM

​Let's Paint Like is a fundraiser hosted by AMA Teen Art Board as they look forward to their Spring Showcase at the Albany Museum of Art. This event, in which participants will paint in the style of artist Bob Ross, is for all age groups and all skill levels.  Supplies, snacks, and beverages will be provided.

AMA ART BALL: ​Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler
​Presented by Albany Motorcars and BMW of Albany
Saturday • Feb 25 • 6:30 PM • Belk Building

After a successful debut in 2022 as the venue for Art Ball, the Albany Museum of Art’s signature annual celebration of art and the community will return to the museum’s future home in downtown Albany on Saturday, Feb 25, for Art Ball: Laissez les Bons Temps Rouler, presented by Albany Motorcars and BMW of Albany.

CORKS & CANVASES
Thursday • March 9 • 5:30-7:30 PM

Grab your spouse, a date, or a friend, or paint solo at the latest Corks & Canvases Paint Parties at the AMA! You can enjoy a glass of wine and snacks while you get step-by-step instructions on how to recreate a famous work of art.

At Corks & Canvases: Matisse a few weeks later on March 9, the group will paint their versions of Pascal’s Pensees, a 1924 still life by Henri Matisse.

COURAGEOUS CONVERSATIONS ABOUT RACE: COLLEGE EDITION

The fifth edition of Courageous Conversations About Race on Jan 13 is aimed at college students from Southwest Georgia. Art will be the catalyst for engaging in important discussions in the safe space of the Albany Museum of Art.

For Teens


​STUDENT ART STUDIO SATURDAYS (SASS)

Add a little SASS to your weekend each month. On second Saturdays (except June and July), teens can meet with other teens and express themselves artistically while enjoying free art time, snacks and music. Sessions are 10 am-noon.

For Kids

KIDS TAKE THE STAGE AT THE MUSEUM

In this new AMA program, kids will be taught acting skills and techniques by longtime children's theater educator Vickie Knuckles over six consecutive Tuesday afternoons from Jan 10-Feb 14. Rising Stars (K-2nd grade) are 3:30-4:20 PM, and Rising Stars (3rd-5th grade) are 4:30-5:20 PM. Last signups are available until the second class on Jan 17.

TODDLER TAKEOVER

The AMA's popular Toddler Takeover art education program includes story time and an art project. The next session is 10:30 am on Tuesday, Feb 7.

HOMESCHOOL DAY

Homeschool Day
brings monthly STEAM education to students in grades K-5th grade.
