CORKS & CANVAS: WILLIAM H. JOHNSON Tuesday | October 11 | 5:30-7:30 PM
Whether you like to paint solo or with a friend, your spouse, or a date, this Tuesday evening painting workshop will make quite an impression! We will celebrate the work of William H. Johnson with our third Corks & CanvasPaint Party, where we will share wine and snacks as we paint our own interpretations of one of Johnson's works in acrylic on canvas.
The artist's works are currently on view in the Haley Gallery exhibition Fighters for Freedom: William H. Johnson Picturing Justice. The exhibition is organized by the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Generous support for the project is from Art Bridges.
William H. Johnson is 5:30-7:30 pm on Tuesday, Oct 11 in the AMA classroom. The artwork that we will use for inspiration for this event is Harriet Tubman, which Johnson painted in 1945.
Paint Party is for all skill levels. Even if you have never used a paintbrush, you'll get step-by-step instructions so you can enjoy the evening and go home with an artwork you'll be proud of. You may make new friends too!
Our first two Paint Parties sold out early. Registration for the Oct 11 session is open, so don't wait too long to register for this one!
