Motion Forward: Street Style
Picture
                        JM Rizzi
JM Rizzi, or better known as JMR, has adapted a unique mixture of neo-abstract expressionism with hints of contemporary pop to create a style all his own.Through his own individual, hybrid street style, he has dedicated himself to helping art fit into the outside world. As he looks to demonstrate the scale and motion set forth by early abstract expressionists, he reinterprets the ideas within his own personal adaptation.

             Tony "Rubin" Sjöman
Brooklyn based Tony "Rubin" Sjöman was raised in a working class housing project in Gothenburg, Sweden. Surrounded by grey concrete and tram tunnels, the walls whispered his name. He grabbed a spray can and set out on a journey that he’s still on today. His abstract and geometrical pieces are rooted in traditional graffiti but break the rules of the craft with its muted color palette and Scandinavianly clean lines. Rubin draws inspiration from his gritty upbringing, the tram tunnels where he first learned the craft and from the contrasts that have formed him into the artist he is today: the skyline of the hectic metropolis versus the serenity of the Nordic nature, all perfectly balanced in his art.

                 Peter Doroshenko
Peter Doroshenko is Executive Director at Dallas Contemporary, Texas. Before his arrival in Dallas, Doroshenko was president and artistic director of the PinchukArtCentre, Kiev. He has held director and curator positions over the past twenty years. Doroshenko has organized numerous one-person exhibitions over the last few years. He has written or contributed to several books and numerous exhibition catalogs on artists.
The Art and Sole of a Sneakerhead
                                    Marvin Laster
For collectors like Marvin Laster, his “addiction” took root from his childhood, when he wasn’t always able to afford the latest Jordans he so admired. Over the years his appreciation grew and he started to amass a collection by chasing down the latest releases wherever he could find them. Each sneaker design is unique and has a story and personality of its own.

                                       Herm Tsoi
Herm Tsoi makes up the other half of the collection being featured. Herm is a 40 year old sneakerhead who’s passion for sneakers has had a significant influence on him. Color, comfort and exclusivity are what influences Herm when selecting which pair is
the one to seek out and purchase.
