Albany Museum of Art Painting Party Is Set for Thursday Evening, Aug 11
Space is selling quickly for the Albany Museum of Art’s second acrylic painting workshop, set for 5:30-7:30 pm on Thursday evening, Aug 11. “Demand is already high for our Monet Paint Party, in which participants will give their interpretations of a Claude Monet painting of water lilies,” Annie Vanoteghem, AMA director of education and public programming, said. “Our first Paint Party sold out in March, and we expect this one will too.”
The Nov 19 Art Festival Will Move to the Veterans Park Amphitheater Area
Heroes is the theme for the 5th annual Albany Museum of Art ChalkFest festival, which returns to downtown Albany on Saturday, Nov 19, 2022. This year’s festival will be at a new downtown location—the 200 block of South Front Street at the Albany Civic Center, where AMA ChalkFest will incorporate the Veterans Park Amphitheater and grounds. Previously, ChalkFest has been held in the 100 block of Pine Avenue.
4th Season of the Albany Museum of Art Book Club Starts Tuesday, July 19
It’s time to restock your bookshelf! The AMA Art Lovers Book Club has announced the six books that members will discuss during the fourth season of the Albany Museum of Art book club meetings.
Event Will Include Reading by Angie Cain Jones, Gallery Tour & Art Activity
The Albany Museum of Art will observe Juneteenth with Freedom’s Eve, a free community event from 2-4 pm on Saturday, June 18 at the museum, located at 311 Meadowlark Drive. The event will feature a special reading by Albany author Angie Cain Jones from her book The Underground Railroad Under My Feet.
