With Valentine’s Day just a few days away, families can enjoy art and activities together on Saturday, Feb 5 when Family Day returns to the Albany Museum of Art. Kids who attend will have an opportunity to create Valentine cards for some special recipients.
Monthly Student Art Studio Saturdays Are Free for Teenagers at the AMA
On Saturday, Feb 12, The Albany Museum of Art will launch Student Art Studio Saturdays, a free monthly art program that will encourage teens to express themselves through their art in a safe, welcoming space while they interact with peers who have similar life experiences.

New Exhibitions Are Open to the Public Starting Friday, Jan21
Four new art exhibitions at the Albany Museum of Art will open to the public at 10 am on Friday, Jan 21.
From 5-6:30 pm on Thursday, Jan 20, the museum will host an opening reception for AMA members, who will have the first opportunity to see the exhibitions, which will be on view in the galleries through Saturday, April 23.
Smith's memoir focuses on her relationship with Robert Mapplethorpe
Just Kids, rocker Patti Smith’s account of her relationship with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, will be the topic of discussion when the AMA Art Lovers Book Club meets at 6 pm on Tuesday, Feb 8 at the Albany Museum of Art. This book club meeting was rescheduled from Jan 18.
The meeting, which will be conducted in the AMA’s Willson Auditorium, will be facilitated by Executive Director Andrew J. Wulf, Ph.D.
AMA Art Ball Will Be an Evening of Dinner, Music, Auctions and Dancing
The signature annual event for the Albany Museum of Art, AMA Art Ball, returns on Saturday, Feb 26 as a celebration of art with a glimpse into the future of the museum.
Art Ball 2022 will take place in the museum’s future home in the former Belk department store building, formally introducing the AMA family to the first stage of the museum’s Metamorphosis into a grand new downtown arts center.
