Evans Gallery, September 9 - March 2017
Long has the hunt drawn sporting aficionados from the north down to the great American South and often artists document the favored game. Italian born Athos Menaboni, one of the most notable Georgia-based artists of his time, produced hundreds of works of wildlife art for locals and visitors alike, drawn here by the hunt.
This exhibition reflects the highlights of our wildlife collection with artists such as Athos Menaboni and Aiden L. Ripley on display. We are exhibiting a range of traditional sporting art that reflects our charming plantations and destination sporting that Southwest Georgia is known for nationwide.
One painting featured in this exhibition is eligible to be written about in our high school and college writing competition - A Picture is Worth 1,000 Words.
