Children of all ages can participate in a tour and an art making workshop. Each day will focus on a featured artist, theme or exhibition.
You must call the museum to register your children prior to the class by emailing Chloe Hinton at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 229.439.8400. If you would like to schedule a class on a different date and time, we will make every effort to accommodate your group.
Sept 13—Neighboorhood for Painters: (Geography and Social Studies) Learn about Georgia’s topographical regions. Discuss what makes up a neighborhood. Paint your own map of Georgia.
Oct 11—Educators as Artists: (Science) Explore animal habitats as represented in these artists’ works, thenin the classroom to build your own.
Nov 8—Home Tour: (Spanish) Students will be introduced to basic Spanish vocabulary for colors, numbers and items found in the home. They will create their own flower vase.
Dec 13—Briant Dettmer: Selective Collective Memories: (Literature) After exploring Dettmer’s exhibition and how he turns old books into objects of art, students will try book-binding and illustration.
